The Legndary – GT R34 –

What can I say about the Legendary Nissan GT R34. It’s a beautiful machine. The R34 is such a highly reveared car amongst the car community and it is getting harder and harder to find a good example of one. This particular R34 was recently up for sale and the asking price was a whopping AUD$280K. If only I had of bought one a few years back when they were selling at around AUD$50K.

With the Nickname of “Godzilla”, you can only imagine what kind of a beast this machine is. This is all due to the fact that under the bonnet is a 2.6L twin-turbocharged 276 horsepower engine. The Nissan GT R34 is by far the most popular GT-R and is highly sought after.

I have to say that the styling is definitely dated but it is still loved by many. Personally, I prefer the styling of the updated R35 and I’m very keen to see what the R36 looks like when it is launched next year. Regardless of its looks, it is an exciting drive for sure. You really do feel like you’re in a race car. It’s noisy and the suspension is stiff but when you hit that throttle, man do you know that you’re in a GT-R.

The Verdict for the Nissan GT R34:

If I had to sum up what in one word I think of the GT-R R34, it would be “Exciting”. This would not be my first choice for a daily driver and I think that it would be quite a frustrating car to drive in city traffic, but out on the open road or letting loose on a race track, this is the car to be in. I would say that if you ever have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of these. Grab it with both hands and don’t forget your seat belt.
